Chiara Tamburlini shines again on the LET, finishing second behind Ruixin Liu at the Aramco China Championship.
Swiss golfer Chiara Tamburlini secured a strong second-place finish at the Aramco China Championship on the Ladies European Tour, trailing only China’s Ruixin Liu. Tamburlini opened with a 71 on Thursday, carding five birdies but also a bogey and a double bogey on the third hole. She improved on Friday with a 69, capped off by an eagle on the final hole. On Saturday, Tamburlini delivered a flawless 66, highlighted by seven birdies. Liu, despite a final-round 68, maintained her lead thanks to earlier rounds of 70 and an impressive 65 on Friday, finishing at 16-under-par, three strokes ahead of Tamburlini at 13-under.

It marks Tamburlini’s third runner-up finish this season on the LET, following similar results at the VP Swiss Bank Ladies Open in September and the Aramco Korea Championship in May. Her consistent performance has elevated her to fourth place on the LET Order of Merit, with 11 top-10 finishes in 19 starts this year. Tamburlini has opted to skip the season-ending Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España to focus on preparing for the LPGA Q-School Final Qualifying in Alabama this December.
Other German-speaking players make the cut
Helen Briem and Austrian Emma Spitz both finished tied for 28th at six-under-par. Briem opened with a 73 but improved with rounds of 69 and 71. Spitz started with a 70 but added one stroke each day, finishing with 71 and 72.
Further down the leaderboard, Olivia Cowan tied for 43rd at four-under, followed by Alexandra Försterling at three-under in T47. Laura Fünfstück and Patricia Isabel Schmidt shared 56th place at one-under. Fünfstück had a strong start with a 68 but struggled with rounds of 76
