Kai Trump, granddaughter of Donald Trump, receives sponsor invite to make her LPGA Tour debut at The ANNIKA in Florida.
In mid-November, the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, will host The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, and among the field will be 18-year-old Kai Trump. Making her first appearance in a professional tournament, Trump was awarded one of the coveted sponsor exemptions, placing her alongside some of the top players in women’s golf.

Trump is the third player to receive a sponsor invite for the event, which is named after golf legend Annika Sörenstam and boasts a $3.25 million purse. The tournament is one of the most prestigious on the LPGA Tour outside the Majors. Past champions include big names like Nelly Korda and Lilia Vu, setting the stage for a high-profile debut. Organizers see Trump as a promising talent with both athletic and media appeal. These sponsor invites aim to support emerging players while also attracting new audiences. “Kai brings a fresh energy,” said tournament officials.
From high school to the LPGA spotlight
Currently a student at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Trump has committed to play collegiate golf at the University of Miami starting in fall 2026. She’s been building her golf résumé through events in the American Junior Golf Association and the South Florida PGA, where she recently secured a T3 finish. Off the course, Trump has launched her own lifestyle and sports brand and has amassed over six million followers on social media.
