Internet Invitational: Golf Creators Compete for $1.7M on YouTube

The Internet Invitational brings golf creators together for a $1.7 million showdown full of drama, fun, and unique formats.

There are plenty of golf tournaments out there, but few like the Internet Invitational. Organized by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports, this event brought 48 players to the stunning Payne’s Valley course at Big Cedar Lodge in the Ozarks, Missouri. The field was just as spectacular as the setting, featuring YouTube stars like Rick Shiels, Garrett Clark, and Luke Kwon, alongside former pros like Wesley Bryan, comedians, influencers, and ex-NHL and NFL athletes. Cameras rolled throughout, capturing team drafts, creative formats, and a prize pool of $1.7 million.

Internet Invitational Format: Drafts, Drama, and Dollars

The tournament featured a team format starting with Scramble, followed by Alternate Shot, and later redrafts and eliminations. The final day’s winning team took home $1 million, split among three players. Each hole also featured a $4,000 skins match, rolling over if tied. The structure resembled a reality show more than a traditional tournament. Two captains—Rigs from Barstool and Bob from Bob Does Sports—drafted teams Survivor-style. Adding to the entertainment, Dave Portnoy and Dan Katz roamed the course in red jackets as unofficial rule enforcers. What they said, went.
