After the original became a cult classic over the years, it was time for a revival. The wait paid off as the film became one of the most successful Netflix releases of the year, according to Josh Carpenter from the Sports Business Journal.
Record-Breaking Streaming Figures for Happy Gilmore 2
The film set a Netflix record during its opening weekend with nearly 47 million streamed minutes and was watched for more than 6.2 billion minutes throughout the year while remaining in Netflix’s weekly Top 10 list. It topped the global Top 10 list for two weeks and stayed in the worldwide Top 10 for a total of five weeks.
Ranking Among Netflix’s 2025 Releases
Out of 39 films released by Netflix in 2025, Happy Gilmore 2 ranks second, only behind “KPop Demon Hunters,” which achieved over 17 billion streamed minutes.
