This week, men’s professional golf offers a triple treat with three high-profile tournaments. The DP World Tour continues its early summer swing in Australia with the Crown Australian Open at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy makes his season debut for 2026 at this event. Also in the field are German-speaking players Maximilian Steinlechner, Freddy Schott, Yannik Paul, and Swiss golfer Joel Girrbach.

DP World Tour Heads to South Africa
Simultaneously, the DP World Tour hosts another event on a different continent. The Nedbank Golf Challenge takes place in Sun City, South Africa, at the Gary Player Country Club with a $6 million purse. Last year’s champion Johannes Veerman from the U.S. returns to defend his title, facing stiff competition from Ryder Cup 2025 star Viktor Hovland. German players Marcel Siem and Nicolai von Dellingshausen, along with Austrian Bernd Wiesberger, complete the strong DACH-region representation.
Tiger Woods Hosts Hero World Challenge
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods welcomes 20 elite players to the Hero World Challenge at the Albany Resort in New Providence, Bahamas. The field includes defending champion Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, and Justin Thomas. Austrian Ryder Cup winner Sepp Straka also returns to action after skipping the DP World Tour finale due to the birth of his son.
