DP World Tour: Dubai Opens the International Swing

This golf week kicks off in Dubai, where the DP World Tour launches the new year with the Dubai Invitational. The Dubai Creek Resort hosts the start of the International Swing, leading the Race to Dubai into the new season. For three days, the focus is on the Pro-Am format before professionals compete exclusively on Sunday. Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood starts the season in a field featuring Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Francesco Molinari, Patrick Reed, Danny Willett, and Padraig Harrington. PGA Tour: Sony Open Takes Season Start

The second and final highlight of the golf week begins in Hawaii, where the PGA Tour unexpectedly starts its season at the Sony Open. Due to ongoing drought conditions in Kapalua, The Sentry, the traditional season opener, was canceled, leading the Sony Open in Honolulu to assume the season’s kickoff. Players compete for a $9.1 million prize fund and the initial FedEx Cup points of the year. Defending champion Nick Taylor returns, alongside J.J. Spaun, Robert MacIntyre, and Ryder
