Terre Blanche: Europe’s Premier Luxury Golf Resort Experience

At the end of his journey through southern France, travel expert Jürgen Linnenbürger explores Europe’s top luxury golf resort.

Luxury and Golf in the Heart of Provence

Located in Tourrettes in the picturesque Pays de Fayence region of southeastern France, Terre Blanche is a five-star golf and spa resort that blends history with modern luxury. Once owned by James Bond actor Sean Connery, the estate was transformed in the late 1990s by SAP co-founder Dietmar Hopp into one of Europe’s most exclusive golf destinations.

The 300-hectare property is a secluded haven of tranquility and elegance. The resort features 115 suites and villas, a world-class spa, and two championship golf courses designed by renowned architect Dave Thomas.

Championship Golf Courses with Tour-Level Design

Terre Blanche boasts two exceptional 18-hole courses: Le Château and Le Riou. Le Château, a par-72 stretching 6,044 meters, is one of France’s most challenging layouts and has hosted the French Riviera Masters on the Senior European Tour. With wide fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and water hazards, it demands both strategy and precision.

Le Riou, slightly shorter at 5,591 meters, is reserved for members and hotel guests. This technical course features tight fairways, doglegs, and stunning views of medieval villages. It hosts the Terre Blanche Ladies Open, part of the LET Access Series, underscoring its elite status.

World-Class Facilities and Unmatched Comfort

The resort’s Albatros Performance Center is among Europe’s most advanced training facilities, offering Toptracer-equipped bays, a biomechanical swing center, and high-tech putting labs. Terre Blanche is also a certified European Tour Destination and GEO-certified for sustainability.

Guests enjoy a heated infinity pool, a luxurious spa with indoor and outdoor pools, and multiple dining options, including the Michelin-starred Le Faventia. The resort’s commitment to excellence extends to its cuisine, service, and eco-conscious practices, making it a benchmark for luxury golf travel in Europe.
