Marcel Schneider and Nicolai von Dellingshausen remain in the lower third of the field after Round 3 of the DP World Tour in Abu Dhabi.
Saturday lived up to its reputation as Moving Day at the DP World Tour event in Abu Dhabi, with the leaderboard seeing significant changes. Nicolai von Dellingshausen struggled on the Yas Links Golf Course, while Marcel Schneider delivered a steady but unspectacular performance.
Steady round for Marcel Schneider
Marcel Schneider started his third round at Yas Links GC with focus. On the par-5 second hole, he set up a birdie with a solid long game and a precise wedge. Another birdie followed on the seventh after a well-executed pitch left him close to the hole. At the turn, the 35-year-old was two under par. However, missed up-and-downs on holes 13 and 14 led to back-to-back bogeys. Schneider recovered with birdies on 15 and the par-3 17th, finishing with a 70, two under par for the day.
Early struggles for von Dellingshausen
After a strong start to the tournament, Nicolai von Dellingshausen hit a rough patch on Saturday. A drive into the native area on the second hole resulted in a bogey, followed by more dropped shots on the third and sixth. Birdies on holes 7 and 8 offered brief relief, but another bogey on the ninth left him at +2 at the turn. The back nine offered no birdie chances, and a missed short putt on 17 added a fourth bogey. He signed for a 75 and sits tied for 53rd, alongside Schneider, heading into the final round.
Rai leads tightly packed leaderboard
While the German duo lingers in the lower ranks, Aaron Rai leads the DP World Tour event at 20 under par.
