Martin Couvra wins the 2025 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award on the DP World Tour after an impressive debut season.
Martin Couvra made an immediate impact in his first season on the DP World Tour, earning the prestigious Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award for 2025. The 22-year-old Frenchman became only the second player from France to receive the honor, following Olivier Edmond’s win 27 years ago. With seven top-ten finishes, including a victory in Turkey, Couvra climbed to 19th in the Race to Dubai standings, outperforming all other rookies.

Fast Track to the Top
Couvra’s rise began on the Challenge Tour, where he won the Challenge de España in 2023 as an amateur. A year later, he finished 17th in the Road to Mallorca rankings, securing his DP World Tour card for 2025. He quickly made his presence known with top-ten finishes at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, and events in Bahrain, Qatar, and China. Week after week, Couvra established himself as a consistent contender on the DP World Tour leaderboards.
Breakthrough Victory and Consistent Form
The turning point in Couvra’s debut season came in May, when a final-round 64 propelled him past Haotong Li and Jorge Campillo to claim his first DP World Tour title in Turkey. He maintained his momentum with more top-ten finishes in Austria and Italy, narrowly missing another win at the Italian Open, where he finished second behind fellow Frenchman Adrien Saddier. His consistent performance secured him 19th place in the Race to Dubai and the Rookie of the Year title ahead of Spain’s Angel Ayora.
