Brooks Koepka leaves LIV Golf after four seasons

After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with LIV Golf after four seasons.

The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion joined the league in 2022 and quickly became one of its most prominent figures. With five wins, a captaincy at Smash GC, and numerous high-profile appearances, Koepka’s time with LIV Golf was impactful—but ends earlier than expected.

The decision was made mutually, according to both parties. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they had agreed to end the partnership after the 2025 season. Koepka stated his desire to spend more time with his family, especially with his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league leadership, his teammates, and fans.

New roles and open questions

Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making this an early exit. His departure prompted a quick reshuffle within his team. Talor Gooch will now take over as captain of Smash GC, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.

Koepka becomes the first Major champion to leave the league since its inception. His future path is somewhat clear but lacks specifics: following his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, a suspension period for the PGA Tour will apply. However, he remains eligible to compete on the DP World Tour and in all four Major championships. No concrete tournament plans have been announced, leaving fans to wonder when and where he will tee it up next.
