After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.
The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion had been a key figure in the league since 2022, securing five wins, serving as captain of Smash GC, and making numerous high-profile appearances. His time with LIV Golf is ending earlier than originally planned.

According to both parties, the decision was mutual. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they agreed to part ways after the 2025 season. Koepka stated he wants to spend more time with his family, particularly his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league’s leadership, his teammates, and the fans.

New roles and open questions
Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, so the move comes a year early. His departure prompted a quick restructuring within Smash GC. Talor Gooch will now take over as team captain, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One spot on the team remains open for the upcoming season.
Koepka becomes the first Major winner to leave the league since its inception. His future path is somewhat clear, though no specific announcements have been made. Following his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, he will face a suspension period from the PGA Tour. However, he remains eligible to compete on the DP World Tour and is qualified for all four Major championships. Koepka has yet to reveal when or where he will return to regular competition.
