Starting January 2026, Magenta TV will broadcast PGA, DP World, and Champions Tour events. Sky retains the Majors.
Golf fans in Germany will have a new home for live coverage starting in 2026, as Telekom has acquired the broadcasting rights for PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Champions Tour events through its Magenta TV platform. The deal, running through 2029, includes 131 tournaments in the first year alone. Additionally, Magenta TV will air the Ryder Cup in 2027 and 2029. However, Sky will continue to hold the rights to all men’s and women’s Major Championships.
300 Days of Live Golf on Magenta TV
The new rights package will deliver approximately 300 days of live golf annually across two newly launched channels—MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2—starting January 2026. MS Golf 1 will feature full-length tournament broadcasts, while MS Golf 2 will offer supplementary content including player features, current stories, and historical highlights. The service will be available at no extra cost to all Magenta TV and MagentaSport subscribers. Coverage kicks off on January 15 with the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Dubai Invitational.
“Golf has found a new home on Magenta TV. With this package, we’re offering Germany’s most comprehensive live golf coverage ever. From the first tee shot to the final putt, we’ll present every tournament live, informative, and in a modern format,” said Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Telekom.
Sky Retains Major Championships
Sky has not lost all broadcasting rights. It will continue to air all Major Championships in the coming years, maintaining coverage of the sport’s most prestigious events alongside the Ryder Cup. Additionally, Sky will retain the rights to the Solheim Cup and all five women’s Majors. As a result, fans wanting full access to weekly golf coverage and the biggest tournaments will need subscriptions to both Magenta TV and Sky.
