Golf meets Bavarian flair in July 2026 with stars like Jäger, Schmid and Kaymer. Get your tickets now with a holiday discount.
Since 1989, the BMW International Open has stood for world-class golf, driving pleasure, and a touch of Bavarian charm. As the longest-running DP World Tour event with the same title sponsor, it returns for its 37th edition from July 1–5, 2026, at Golfclub München Eichenried. German stars Stephan Jäger, Matti Schmid, and two-time major winner Martin Kaymer have already confirmed their participation, with more top players expected. Tickets are now available in the official ticket shop, with a 10% holiday discount until December 24, 2025.
Top German Players Return Home
Stephan Jäger, who has been based in the U.S. for years and plays regularly on the PGA TOUR, will return to his home club in Eichenried. After missing the 2025 edition due to the birth of his second son, the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open champion is eager to play in front of a home crowd again: “I’m really looking forward to finally playing in Eichenried again and enjoying the BMW International Open. A tournament in your hometown is a rare and fortunate occasion. I can’t wait to experience this week with my family, old friends, and colleagues.”
Martin Kaymer, the only German to have won the BMW International Open and still its youngest champion at 23 years and 177 days in 2008, also has fond memories of the event. “The people you work with make all the difference. You can tell everyone at BMW puts in a lot of passion. That makes it very pleasant for us players, and I’m always grateful that we have such a great event in Germany,” said the two-time major winner.
Schmid and the Next Generation
Matti Schmid, currently the highest-ranked German golfer, has the BMW International Open marked in his calendar every year. Having grown up watching the pros at Eichenried, he now inspires the next generation. In 2025, Schmid finished tied for seventh, making him the best-performing German. “The atmosphere was amazing all week. I hope everyone comes back because it’s great to have a packed venue,” he said.
