Bernhard Langer vividly recalls his first appearance at the PNC Championship. His son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly among the greats. “We had a blast,” Langer says today. “Back then, he had to compete against pro teams—hitting drives and aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score. “It was just a wonderful time.” That debut marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the moment I got invited.”

Among Major Champions and Legends

The PNC Championship brings together golfers who have made history. For Bernhard Langer, that’s part of the magic. “Being out there with other Major champions and legends of the game is something truly special,” he says. But it’s not about trophies or prestige—it’s about sharing the experience with family. “It’s one of my favorite tournaments.” Great careers meet budding swings, with Langer at the heart—as both father and player.

A Holiday Tradition

The December date makes the tournament special for many players—including Bernhard Langer. “It’s a wonderful time of year, right before Christmas, when families come together. It feels like a family reunion.” While the PGA Tour and other tours are on winter break, this event offers a unique blend of golf, camaraderie
