Bernhard Langer shares his memories of the PNC Championship and what makes playing with his son so special.
Bernhard Langer vividly recalls his first appearance at the PNC Championship. Back then, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly among the greats. “We had a blast,” Langer says today. “He had to compete against pro teams—hitting drives and aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, though. “It was just a great time.” That event marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the moment I was invited.”

The December date gives the tournament a special charm—especially for Bernhard Langer. “It’s a wonderful time of year, just before Christmas, when families come together.
