At the time, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly among golf’s elite. “We had a blast,” Langer recalls. “He had to compete against pro teams—hitting drives and then aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, but about the experience. “It was just a wonderful time.” That debut marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the moment I was invited.”
