LIV Stars Lead After Round One at PIF Saudi International

LIV players Surratt and Meronk top the leaderboard at the PIF Saudi International, while Martin Kaymer sits mid-field.

The Asian Tour teed off its final International Series event of the season on Wednesday at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia: the PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers. The tournament offers the top two finishers on the International Series Order of Merit a coveted spot in the 2026 LIV Golf League. A total of 43 LIV Golf players are in the field, including big names like Tyrrell Hatton, Louis Oosthuizen, Paul Casey, and Martin Kaymer, along with his LIV teammate Adrian Meronk. The winner also earns 324 points toward their LIV Golf ranking.

LIV Golfers Dominate the Leaderboard

Caleb Surratt and Adrian Meronk share the lead after round one, both carding impressive 62s to go nine-under-par. Surratt notched 10 birdies but was slightly set back by a bogey on the fourth hole. Meronk had a steadier front nine with three birdies, then surged on the back nine with six more birdies and no bogeys. They are closely followed by Belgium’s Thomas Pieters, who shot a 63 with eight birdies to sit one stroke behind.

England’s Tyrrell Hatton, a 2023 Ryder Cup winner and recent LIV Golf signee, is tied for ninth at five-under-par, alongside six other players.

Kaymer Mid-Pack, Other Germans Trail

Martin Kaymer, representing LIV Golf, finished his opening round at two-under-par, placing him T42. The 40-year-old recorded three birdies and one bogey. Fellow German Maximilian Rottluff, currently on the DP World Tour, shot an even-par 70 with four birdies and three bogeys, landing at T64.

Dominic Foos, who claimed his first professional win on the Asian Tour in Macau in 2025, struggled with four bogeys and just one birdie, finishing with a 74 and sitting T106 at three-over-par.
