Tom McKibbin leads Asian Tour’s Hong Kong Open after bogey-free rounds

Tom McKibbin continues his strong form at the Asian Tour’s Hong Kong Open, while all German players miss the cut.

At the halfway mark of the Link Hong Kong Open, Tom McKibbin remains in control of the Asian Tour leaderboard. After a sensational opening round of 60 that set a new course record at Fanling, the Northern Irishman followed up with a composed 65 on Friday. Bogey-free and with five birdies, he moved to -15 overall. Two shots behind him is a trio of contenders: Peter Uihlein, Jazz Janewattananond, and Kiradech Aphibarnrat, all vying for the title this weekend—without any German presence.

German trio falls short of the cut

It was a disappointing second round for the German players at the Asian Tour event. The cut was set at -5, which proved too much for Martin Kaymer, Maximilian Rottluff, and
