Max Rottluff, Martin Kaymer and Dominic Foos start strong at the Link Hong Kong Open on the Asian Tour.
The Link Hong Kong Open, part of the Asian Tour‘s International Series, teed off with a strong field including 28 LIV Golf players. The tournament offers a $2 million purse and valuable qualification points for the 2026 Masters and Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Asian Tour: Rottluff opens with bogey-free 66
Maximilian Rottluff delivered a clean opening round of 66 (-4), placing him T28. He started with eight straight pars before carding a birdie on the 9th. On the back nine, he picked up birdies on holes 13, 16 and 17 to finish strong.
Martin Kaymer and Dominic Foos both shot 67 (-3), placing them T52. Kaymer opened with an eagle on the first hole and added a birdie before a double bogey on the 5th slowed his momentum. He recovered with two more birdies on the back nine. For Kaymer, the Asian Tour is a key opportunity to work his way back into major contention. Foos had a tougher start with two bogeys on the front nine, but bounced back with an eagle on 13 and three birdies on the back nine.
McKibbin sets course record with bogey-free 60
Tom McKibbin stole the spotlight with a bogey-free 60, setting a new course record at the Composite Course in Fanling. The Northern Irishman, a member of Jon Rahm‘s Legion XIII, carded eight birdies and an eagle to top the leaderboard. He is followed closely by Jazz Janewattananond with a 61 and Kiradech Aphibarnrat with a 62.
