Italy’s top golfers delivered a mixed showing on the DP World Tour throughout March 2026, with the Hero Indian Open in New Delhi providing the standout moment for the Azzurri contingent.

Manassero Rediscovers Winning Form

Matteo Manassero showcased his quality at the Hero Indian Open from March 26-29, securing a tied ninth-place finish at two-under par (286) and banking €46,866 in prize money. The 33-year-old from Negrar has steadily climbed the Race to Dubai standings, now sitting 76th with 174 points accumulated across seven events. His current world ranking stands at approximately 262.

For Manassero, this result represents a genuine return to consistency following a challenging period in recent years. A five-time DP World Tour champion, the Italian has worked through a prolonged spell without the form that defined his earlier career. The finish in India suggests those efforts are beginning to bear fruit.

Mixed Results Across the Italian Squad

Francesco Molinari, the 2018 Open Champion, continues his selective tournament schedule with encouraging results. The 43-year-old posted a sixth-place finish at the Hero Indian Open—a strong showing for a player of his age and experience—and followed that with a 34th-place finish at the Hainan Classic. Molinari remains a commanding presence when he takes to the course.

Guido Migliozzi endured a more frustrating March. The four-time DP World Tour winner currently sits 127th in the Race to Dubai with just 87 points from his tournaments so far this season. The Vicenza native was absent from the Indian Open and has failed to register a single top-20 finish across his 2026 starts to date. His results—a tied 33rd at the Dubai Invitational, tied 36th at the Qatar Masters, and tied 47th in Bahrain—suggest he needs an immediate turnaround to regain momentum. His world ranking currently sits at 297.

On the women’s circuit, Benedetta Moresco competed in the LPGA Tour‘s Ford Championship, posting a tied 53rd-place finish. Fellow Italian Carolina Melgrati was also in the field at the Phoenix event.

Italy’s golf federation has also announced that the 83rd Open d’Italia will take place from June 25-28, 2026, at Circolo Golf Torino in La Mandria. A qualifying tournament will distribute three wildcard spots for the prestigious national championship. Additionally, the “Golf Beyond Every Barrier” inclusive golf initiative launched its second season on March 30 in Arenzano, continuing its mission to bring the sport to people with disabilities.
