Tiger Woods’ 50th birthday party in January features a star-studded guest list, top music act, and a title sponsor.
Tiger Woods turned 50 on December 30, and the occasion is set to be celebrated in style. His foundation is hosting a grand party on January 14 with an exclusive guest list, a star music act, and even a title sponsor, reports Front Office Sports.
The Occasion
When a golf legend like Tiger Woods turns 50, it calls for a spectacular celebration. Under the theme “RED: Celebrating Legacy,” the milestone birthday will be celebrated with around 300 guests. The party will take place at the luxury resort The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. The event is organized by Woods’ foundation, the TGR Foundation, aiming to honor Woods’ achievements on and off the golf course and look ahead to the future. Guests include friends like Justin Thomas and Woods’ longtime caddie Joe LaCava, as well as other notable sports figures.
The Theme
The evening will revolve around the birthday honoree. The dress code is “a touch of red,” in remembrance of the iconic final outfit of the 15-time major winner, which also inspired his own clothing line. The evening’s menu is inspired by the meals Tiger served at the Champions Dinner after his five Masters victories. This could include elements of the McDonald’s-inspired menu from his first Masters win, when Woods served cheeseburgers, fries, and milkshakes. A performance by Jon Bon Jovi will round out the evening, which even has its own sponsor: the accounting firm Ernst & Young is presenting the event.
The Cause
The event is not only to celebrate 50 years of Tiger Woods’ life but also commemorates the 30th anniversary of his foundation. The TGR Foundation aims to raise 50 million dollars that evening to support the expansion of the TGR Learning Labs, which offer free STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics), career programs, and wellness activities for middle and high school students.
