Several German-speaking pros compete in Florida’s LIV Golf Promotions for three LIV Golf League 2026 spots.
From January 8 to 11, the competition heats up in Lecanto, Florida. The LIV Golf Promotions gather nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wildcard spots in the LIV Golf League 2026. The path leads through four stroke-play rounds, with daily cuts and new chances. Those who make it to the weekend will compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million US dollars and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. At the end, three places await for the LIV Golf League 2026, including guaranteed starts at all 13 events. Ten additional players will secure starts for the International Series.
LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Opportunity?
The field is strong with tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s a comeback; for others, a breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking participants see this event as a genuine opportunity and possibly the start of a new chapter.
Max Kieffer Heading Into the Next Chapter
Max Kieffer faces perhaps his most important appearance since his 2022 DP World Tour victory. After 13 years in the European top tier, his tour card is gone. The 2025 season did not go as planned. Kieffer dropped in the rankings and missed Q-School. Now, LIV Golf is his route. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and determination, saying, “We’re not done yet.” Florida will show how far his comeback path will reach.
Foos, Bachem, Rottluff, Schwab: Each with Their Own Story
Dominic Foos raised attention in 2025 with a win on the Asian Tour. Steady play and international experience paved his way to the promotions. He now aims higher. For the 28-year-old, a leap into the LIV Golf League would mean both sporting progress and a spotlight boost.
Nick Bachem ended 2025 on a sour note: injury, form crisis, and last place at Q-School. But those who know the 26-year-old understand his resilience. Bachem has proven he can win at the top level. Similar is the case for Matthias Schwab: the Austrian missed the final qualifying school round and any realistic tour card chance. After years on the PGA and DP World Tour, he now searches for a new path, which LIV Golf might offer. Maximilian Rottluff
