Bernhard Langer reflects on his memories at the PNC Championship and what makes the event so special for him and his son.

Bernhard Langer vividly remembers his first appearance at the PNC Championship. At the time, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly part of a field full of legends. “We had so much fun,” Langer recalls. “Back then, he had to compete against professional teams—hitting drives and then aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, though. “It was just a great time.” That experience marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the moment I was invited.”

Among Major Champions and Legends

The PNC Championship brings together golfers who have made history. For Bernhard Langer, that’s a big part of the appeal. “Being out there with other Major champions and some of the legends of the game is something really special,” he says.
