Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract and how Koepka’s departure impacts future negotiations.
Brooks Koepka’s unexpected departure from the LIV Golf League caught many off guard — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a turning point in the league’s young history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.
Bryson DeChambeau: Extension Talks Underway, But Nothing Certain
DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already in motion. “The conversations are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized mutual interest — as long as both sides benefit. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision are key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve.”
Crushers GC: A LIV Success Story
While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and strategic growth. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III returning for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his model works — and it strengthens his negotiating position with LIV Golf.
PGA Tour Return? Only With Clear Rules
Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau remains cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. Otherwise, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau is already thinking beyond traditional competition: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
