TGL returns with a rematch between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club to open the new season at the SoFi Center.
The second season of TGL begins with a familiar showdown. On December 28, Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club will face off in a rematch of last season’s final. Atlanta narrowly won both final matches by a single point and enters the new season as reigning champion. Before the opening tee shot, the championship banner will be raised to the rafters, followed by the match in the established format of Triples and Singles segments. Both teams start with three Hammers, with Atlanta teeing off on the first hole. The lineups feature familiar names: Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele for New York; Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, and Billy Horschel for Atlanta.
Atlanta Drive GC builds on proven strengths
Atlanta Drive GC enters the new TGL season with strong stats from last year. The team excelled in Singles play, scoring the most Hammer points league-wide. Billy Horschel led the league in Singles points won, Patrick Cantlay remained unbeaten in Singles against New York, and Lucas Glover impressed with a flawless fairway rate. New York Golf Club bounced back from an 0–2 start to make the playoffs. Cameron Young led all players in total points and made an impact with his driving distance.
Technical upgrades bring more variety
With the new season, TGL has also revamped its playing surface. The GreenZone has been significantly expanded, offering more pin positions and varied putting lines. Additional actuators beneath the turf now allow for adjustable contours, increasing tactical options. The hole catalog has also been updated. New holes like Stone & Steeple, Stinger, and Cenote make their debut, along with team-themed holes such as Fore-0-Fore for Atlanta and Big Apple for New York. A total of 15 specially designed holes will be played.
