Starting January 2026, Magenta TV will broadcast PGA, DP World, and Champions Tour events. Majors remain with Sky.
Golf fans in Germany will have a new destination for live coverage starting in 2026. Telekom has secured the broadcast rights for PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Champions Tour events through its Magenta TV platform. The deal runs through 2029 and includes 131 tournaments in the first year alone. Additionally, Magenta TV will air the Ryder Cup in 2027 and 2029. However, Sky will retain the rights to all men’s and women’s Major Championships.
300 Days of Live Golf on Magenta TV
The new rights package includes approximately 300 days of live golf annually, spread across two newly launched channels—MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2—available via Magenta TV starting January 2026. MS Golf 1 will feature full tournament broadcasts, while MS Golf 2 will offer supplementary content such as player features, stories, and historical highlights. The first events to be broadcast are the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Dubai Invitational, beginning January 15. All content will be available at no extra cost to Magenta TV and MagentaSport subscribers.
“Golf has found a new home at MagentaTV. With this package, we offer Germany’s most comprehensive live golf coverage ever. From the first tee shots to the final putts, we’ll show every tournament like never before—live, informative, and in a modern format,” said Arnim Butzen, Telekom’s Head of TV.
Sky Retains Major Championships
Despite losing a significant portion of the golf calendar, Sky will continue to broadcast all Major Championships in the coming years. This includes both men’s and women’s Majors, as well as the Solheim Cup. These events remain among the most prestigious in the sport, ensuring Sky retains a vital part of the golf broadcasting landscape. For fans wanting full access to weekly tournaments and major events, two subscriptions—Magenta TV and Sky—will be required moving forward.
