The annual LIV Golf Promotions event returns to Florida in January, with two league spots up for grabs and a strong international field.
The 87-player field for the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event has been confirmed. The tournament will take place from January 8–11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. Unlike last year’s event in Saudi Arabia, which offered only one league spot, this year’s edition will grant two players entry into the LIV Golf League. The stakes have been raised as LIV Golf continues to refine its promotion and relegation system in pursuit of Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points.
Big names headline LIV Golf Promotions field
German-speaking players Maximilian Kieffer and Matthias Schwab are among the contenders aiming to secure a coveted spot in the league. The field also includes the top ten players from the International Series Top 20, such as Miguel Tabuena (Philippines winner), Ollie Schniederjans (India winner), and Wade Ormsby (Jakarta winner), all of whom are pre-qualified for the second round. Former LIV players Ben Campbell, Matt Jones, Andy Ogletree, Anthony Kim, Max Rottluff, and John Catlin are also in the mix.
Notable European names include former Ryder Cup player and BMW PGA champion Chris Wood, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, and former Open Championship silver medalist Tom Lewis. DPWT regulars Callum Shinkwin and Lucas Bjerregaard, along with Walker Cup players Dominic Clemons and Charlie Forster, round out a competitive field.
LIV Golf reports that 50 of the 87 participants have won a tournament in the past two years, including 39 different winners of OWGR-sanctioned events in 2025. “The evolution of LIV Golf Promotions reflects our ongoing commitment to creating truly open and competitive pathways for players around the world to compete at the highest level,” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. “It will be a high-stakes, intense competition from start to finish, and we look forward to celebrating the players who earn their shot at LIV Golf’s biggest season yet.”
PGA Tour players still barred
Once again, PGA Tour members will not participate, as the Tour considers the four-day event an unauthorized competition. Any member who competes would face a one-year suspension. Tensions between the two professional circuits remain high, recently reignited when Laurie Canter relinquished his PGA Tour card to rejoin the Saudi-backed league.
Nearly 90 players from 24 countries will compete for two coveted spots in what promises to be one of the most competitive events on the LIV Golf calendar.
