The 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event in Florida will feature 87 players competing for two coveted league spots. Field now confirmed.
The official field for the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event has been announced, with 87 players set to compete for two spots in the LIV Golf League. The tournament will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. Last year’s event in Saudi Arabia offered just one league spot, claimed by Chieh-po Lee. This year, prize money has increased as LIV Golf continues to refine its promotion and relegation system in pursuit of Official World Golf Ranking points.
Big names in the mix at LIV Golf Promotions
German-speaking players Maximilian Kieffer and Matthias Schwab are among the contenders aiming to secure a place in the league. Also competing are the top ten players from the International Series Top 20, including Miguel Tabuena (Philippines winner), Ollie Schniederjans (India winner), and Wade Ormsby (Jakarta winner). These players are pre-qualified for the second round, along with relegated and released LIV players such as Ben Campbell, Matt Jones, Andy Ogletree, Anthony Kim, Max Rottluff, and John Catlin.
Notable European names include former Ryder Cup player and BMW PGA champion Chris Wood, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, and former Open Championship silver medalist Tom Lewis. Former DPWT regulars Callum Shinkwin and Lucas Bjerregaard, as well as Walker Cup players Dominic Clemons and Charlie Forster, are also in the field.
According to LIV Golf, 50 of the 87 players have won a tournament in the past two years, including 39 different winners of OWGR-sanctioned events in 2025. \”The evolution of LIV Golf Promotions reflects our ongoing commitment to creating truly open and competitive pathways for players from around the world to compete at the highest level,\” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. \”It will be a high-stakes, intense competition from start to finish, and we look forward to celebrating the players who earn their shot at LIV Golf’s biggest season yet.\”
PGA Tour players barred from competing
Once again, no PGA Tour players will participate, as the Tour classifies the four-day event as an unauthorized competition. Any member who competes would face a one-year suspension.
Tensions between the two professional golf leagues remain high. The debate recently reignited when Laurie Canter relinquished his PGA Tour card to return to the Saudi-backed league.
