Jayden Schaper claims his second consecutive DP World Tour title with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
South Africa’s Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling performance to win the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, securing victory in a playoff for the second week in a row. The 24-year-old triumphed over American Ryan Gerard at La Réserve Golf Links, capping off the DP World Tour season in spectacular fashion.
Schaper started strong with two birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the 5th hole. He maintained his momentum on the back nine with four more birdies, finishing with a stunning 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, to force a playoff after both players finished at 22-under-par.
In the playoff, Schaper sealed the win with a sensational chip-in eagle on the second extra hole, while Gerard could only manage par. The victory marks Schaper’s second straight DP World Tour win, following his triumph at the Alfred Dunhill Championship the previous week.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper said, ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like this. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas will be amazing this year and so will the New Year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis finished third after a final round 71 that included four birdies and three bogeys, maintaining a strong presence near the top of the leaderboard throughout the week.
Mixed results for German players on final day
Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider both struggled in the final round. Schneider, who had a steady front nine with just one bogey, faltered on the back nine with three more bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th, ending with a 78 and dropping to T37 at four-under-par. Siem also shot a disappointing 76 (+4), matching Schneider’s total score and position.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par in the final round and finished T48 at one-under-par overall.
