Jayden Schaper wins back-to-back titles on DP World Tour

Jayden Schaper claims his second consecutive DP World Tour title with a stunning chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

South African Jayden Schaper continued his impressive run on the DP World Tour by winning the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at La Réserve Golf Links. Just a week after his playoff victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Schaper once again triumphed in dramatic fashion—this time with a chip-in eagle on the second playoff hole to defeat American Ryan Gerard.

Schaper started strong with two birdies on the front nine and added an eagle on the 5th. He maintained his momentum on the back nine with four more birdies, finishing the final round with an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, which forced the playoff as both players ended at 22-under-par.

In the playoff, Schaper delivered a spectacular chip-in eagle on the 19th hole, while Gerard could only manage par. With this win, Schaper closes out 2025 with back-to-back victories, both secured in playoffs.

Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’

Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper said: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like this. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the new year.’

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured solo third place. Despite a solid showing throughout the week, his final round included three bogeys and four birdies, resulting in a 71.

Mixed results for German players

German contenders Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider struggled on the final day. Schneider, who had a steady front nine with just one bogey, faltered on the back nine with three more bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at -4. Siem matched that position after a round of 76, which included three birdies, two bogeys, and three double bogeys.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par in the final round and ended the tournament at -1, tied for 48th place.
