Martin Couvra made an immediate impact in his first season on the DP World Tour, earning the prestigious Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award for 2025. The 22-year-old Frenchman became only the second player from France to receive the honor, following Olivier Edmond 27 years ago. With seven top-ten finishes, including a victory in Turkey, Couvra finished 19th in the Race to Dubai, outperforming all other rookies.

Fast track to the top
Couvra’s rise began on the Challenge Tour, where he won the Challenge de España in 2023 as an amateur. A year later, he finished 17th in the Road to Mallorca rankings, securing his DP World Tour card for 2025. He quickly established himself with top-ten finishes at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, and events in Bahrain, Qatar, and China.
Breakthrough victory in Turkey
The turning point of Couvra’s rookie season came in May, when a final-round 64 propelled him past Haotong Li and Jorge Campillo to claim his first DP World Tour title. He maintained his momentum with more top-ten finishes in Austria and Italy, including a runner-up finish at the Italian Open behind fellow Frenchman Adrien Saddier. His consistent performance earned him 19th place in the Race to Dubai and the Rookie of the Year title ahead of Spain’s Angel Ayora.
