Cathkin Braes Golf Club Course Update: Weather Impact on Maintenance

Recent weather has affected maintenance projects, but essential work continues at Cathkin Braes Golf Club.

Despite the difficult ground conditions, we have managed to complete some essential maintenance. We have cleared some whin bushes at the 3rd Huxley, yellow and white tees. Additionally, we are continuing with tree surgery work, which includes the removal of overhanging branches at the right-hand side of the 2nd fairway, as well as a single tree at the left-hand side of the 7th. We also removed several snapped trees along the 8th and 12th plantation and two larch trees on the 13th, one along the fairway and the other at greenside. Finally, we removed the fallen tree on the right-hand side of the 18th fairway.

Upcoming Maintenance Work

Other work included backfilling the trench from the new gas tank and deep verti draining on the 13th and the academy green. Allgrass contractors will be back in on Monday 1st, weather permitting, to hopefully restart their aeration works. To date, they have only managed to complete work on two fairways, so fingers crossed the weather is favorable next week.
