We are thrilled to announce that Joe Pownell has joined Mellor Golf Club as our new Head Professional. Joe’s passion for golf began early, nurtured by a family of avid golfers including his grandparents, parents, uncles, and cousins.
Joe’s Golf Journey
Joe developed his skills at Fairfield Golf Club, competing in the junior section with his brother. In 2015, he earned a Diploma in Golf Studies from Myerscough College. He then spent four years at Ashton-under-Lyne Golf Club, completing his PGA training and gaining valuable experience as a coach, club fitter, and retailer.

Joe is passionate about supporting golfers of all ages and skill levels, with a special focus on junior development. His enthusiasm for the game and dedication to mentoring the next generation make him a valuable addition to the Mellor Golf Club community.
