Shane Lowry shared the honor of flag bearer for Ireland with hurdler Sarah Lavin at the spectacular opening of the Paris Olympics. “I didn’t even tell my mom beforehand, it would have been in the Tullamore Tribune the next day,” grinned the 2019 Portrush Golfer of the Year champion and two-time Ryder Cupper after completing the momentous task: ”I’m not sure you can even dream about it as a kid because it’s so far away. To be able to do this is absolutely unforgettable.”
